So could possibly be refinished. The clock mechanism now looks all out of whack and alcohol made blue spiral line come off motor.
Vintage Sony 8FC-69WA clock radio broken - for parts or repair mechanism would not work so we rinsed the motor with rubbing alcohol then put everything back together. The wood case and buttons are very grimy, but no major scratches, etc. Now, it still doesn't work won't even turn manually and the small, black time-set knobs retaining broke while forcing.
Anyway, the radio and alarm work, volume knob is very touchy lots of loud, dirty noise, some lights turn on but are dim other knobs switches seem to work. Other things that have not been mentioned could be broken or faulty. Yeah, I know.
