The Mega-Bass is also 100% functional. I had purchased that one as a backup to this one, but never needed it. The belt clip also shows no wear and it functions perfectly. The FM stereo plus Mega Bass is simply superb.

It is completely a display issue as best I can tell, however, because the AM stations are center-tuned at that value with no loss in quality. Sony SRF-M97, Portable Walkman, AM/FM Stereo w/Mega BASS, Used in Excellent Condition, IMHO, this is the finest radio Walkman that ever produced. The battery compartment is totally clean, with no tarnish or corrosion on the terminals see photos. The original Sony headphones are missing, but they were sub-par to the quality of this receiver anyway.

FM stereo performs exactly as it should with tuning and display. The receiver is absolutely fully functional, but for some reason, the AM band shows as 3kHz too low on display - example, it will show 747kHz instead of 750kHz or 677kHz 680kHz. Anyway - add a good AAA battery and you are all set for excellent listening on the go. Sony provides a switch between Local and DX so that you can reduce the FM multi path, when needed. I sold NEW NOS one complete in original, unopened packaging couple of weeks ago.

Although as delicate this radio is, it should probably be used in a shirt pocket. I am substituting MONK Plus earbuds as similar better to Sony's for this sale. I have owned many, some suitable for running, others the finest intimate listening. They are absolutely brand-new and in a package never-opened.

It is delicate, but in my experience of owning several these, super long lasting with the finest sound and reception. While used, it is in excellent condition. There is little multi path distortion compared to many Sony FM/AM Walkman's and the AM portion even reasonably capable of DX-ING. I've included a photo of another pair MONK Plus earbuds to give you an idea whats inside the sealed package.
